Welcome to The Table!
Jesus was often sitting around tables… listening, laughing, enjoying food and friendship. The earliest Christians also were known for their uncommon hospitality. For them, to share a meal was to share life. In our day, the most meaningful relationships we have are enjoyed at tables or other places where we feel welcome and safe to be ourselves.
That’s what Jesus’ community should be – a place where everyone is invited, welcomed and included because of His sacrificial love. And by “everyone”, we mean EVERYONE; committed, disconnected, cynical, unsure, fully devoted, curious, broken, imperfect, burned out on religion, bored or whatever adjective you want to insert. We don’t do it perfectly, but that is the kind of church we want to become. If that’s what you are looking for, there’s a place at the table for you!
